I have no idea if it's normal for a mother to sob when she finds out her little boy's tooth is loose, but I'm pretty sure I'm not normal. Skyler's tooth was loose for weeks, and he was complaining of it hurting. I just kept telling him to leave it alone because I really, really didn't want it to fall out. However, one afternoon as he was eating a ham sandwich he noticed something on the bread. It was red, and I thought it was just a piece of ham. He kept eating and then said, "No Mom, I think it's blood." His tooth had fallen out, but we couldn't find it. He cried, not because we couldn't find his tooth, but because he didn't want his tooth to fall out either. It was probably 1/2 hour later that Skyler saw his tooth on the hard wood floors, not even close to where he was sitting when it fell out. Wierd!
