Stanley Trip

Over the 4th of July weekend, we went up to Stanley, Idaho for a few days. It's kind of a weird place with no paved roads, and only a handful of businesses. We stayed at the Sawtooth Hotel which was built in 1931. The first morning we were there was rough. We all (me, Steve, Skyler and Anya) slept in one king-sized bed, and we didn't get much sleep. We found a great little place for breakfast called The Bakery with the best oatmeal pancakes. Skyler was pretty grumpy but warmed up after he got his hot chocolate.
After breakfast, we drove the few miles to Red Fish Lake where we spent the day. It was beautiful with the Sawtooths as our backdrop.
Skyler fished. . .
played in the water. . .
dug in the sand. . .and built cool stuff out of sticks.
I played with Anya who thankfully hadn't quite mastered crawling yet.
The hotel had this cool porch swing out front which I wish we could have spent more time on.
After two nights in our hotel and one day at the lake, we drove down to Sun Valley/Ketchum and took the gondola up the mountain.
Don't you want to squeeze those little cheeks?
Skyler and Steve took the two-seater ski lift all the way to the top while I fed Anya at the half-way point. The view was amazing!
After Sun Valley, we drove to Twin Falls where Skyler got to swim and watch TV at our hotel. Doesn't he look happy?
