Rocky Mountain Folk's Festival

A couple of weeks ago, myy friend Monica and I drove to Lyons CO for a music festival. We were both so excited that we didn't check the weather details to know what to pack. It rained the entire first day we were there, and it was cold enough we could see our breath.
The red ponchos were our first attempts at keeping dry. They worked OK, but if you moved wrong, a river of water would soak you. We also didn't want to get up and walk around or our chairs would get wet.

By the second day, we had moved on to full rainsuits which worked much better, and we could move around as we pleased. Let me tell you, using a porta-potty is quite difficult in a full rainsuit (the poncho was worse). Lyons is beautiful, and the venue is right by a river and red rock cliffs. I have been to this festival two times previously but it was always 95 degrees. I couldn't believe how many kids were there decked out in rubber boots and raincoats.
Luckily, we had a few hours on Saturday when it stopped raining and the sun actually came out.

On Friday we saw Shawn Mullins (good), Dar Williams (AWESOME), Josh Ritter (VERY GOOD and he's from Moscow, ID), Patty Griffin (My 2nd favorite singer of all time), and Amos Lee (we left early because we were too cold).
On Saturday we saw Sarah Sample (pretty good), Steve Seskin, Susan Werner, Great Lake Swimmers (I liked them a lot), Todd Snider (entertaining), The Waifs (not as good as I remember them), Greg Brown (I'm done seeing him live) and Nanci Griffith (my very favorite #1 singer/songwriter of all time).
