As a follow up to Skyler learning to climb up on the couch, I must say that he still needs to practice getting down. He knows how get off, and usually turns around and slides down on his tummy like he should. However yesterday, he decided to step off like he would a stair. Steve was sitting on the floor, and Skyler's face slammed into his side. I reminded Steve that he needed to watch Skyler more closely when he is on the couch. Ok, not 20 minutes later, I'm on the couch with Skyler and he is threatening to step off the couch again. I reminded him what happened earlier and then put my hand out to discourage him from walking off the edge. Well he did it anyway, and I couldn't catch him. His face caught the brunt of his fall. Afterwards, he wanted nothing to do with me as he was crying, "dada, dada." It was as if he thought I pushed him. I'm sure Steve was thinking, "you need to watch Skyler more closely when he's on the couch."

Talking and Falling
Skyler has been doing so many funny things lately, and most of it has to do with his quickly growing repetoire of words. Yesterday, I was reading Skyler a book about Ernie going to the moon. In the middle of the story, he screamed and then immediately said "eem" (his word for scream). The most amusing part of this is the speed at which he switches from the scream to the word "eem". It goes, "AAAAAAAAH, eem." He has done this before, but it was so funny yesterday because it was out of the blue. We have tried to capture this on camera, but Skyler gets shy and won't do it. We have also had the pleasure this last month or so to wake up to the sound of Skyler yelling "GOOOOOOOOOOAL!" at the top of this lungs. He learned this from Steve, as this is what his dad yells when Skyler makes a basket (doesn't make much sense does it). Well he loves to yell it in the early morning hours when he first wakes up.
