Skyler is getting much better eating with a spoon lately. Though I know it's inevitable, I have had a hard time with the mess. Recently, when I bring a washcloth to the table to wash Skyler's hands, he will hide them by sitting on them or putting them behind his back. So not only will food be on his face and hands, but also on his pants, rear end, and back. I usually wait until he's "done" eating, then I will spoon feed him whatever is left on his plate. He doesn't love this and usually tries to grab my spoon so he has two.

When Skyler's eating, he's not extremely accurate with the spoon. Usually a big drip will fall off the spoon onto his chin. He will reach up with his hand to catch the drip and then smear it all over his face and head. If I say anything like, "Here, let me wash the bananas out of your hair," he only hears "hair" and will immediately reach up and touch his hair gooping on more food.
