Skyler climbed up onto the couch for the first time yesterday all by himself! He loves to play on the couch, and would try to climb up all the time. He could never quite get his weight forward enough to hoist himself up without a little push on the rear. Once in a while, he would be able to do it by stepping on a pillow or blanket, but he never realized the help he was getting. Yesterday he climbed up without any help from his parents or pillows, and this morning he has climbed up at least 3 times already. We have a sectional with a lot of pillows, and Skyler likes to run (not walk) from one end to the other end. The corner (the sectional is "L" shaped) usually has the most pillows, and Skyler isn't left with much room to squeeze by without falling off the couch. If I'm there, I clear the pillows out so he has more room. However, now that he has accomplished climbing the couch on his own, I'm pretty sure he'll be doing it when I'm not around. I guess I need to prepare for many bruises and "head bonks."
